October 2026
On 6 May 2026, Law Centres Network reported that Hillingdon Law Centre, in Hayes, west London, had been forced to temporarily suspend its services due to a funding shortfall. We are sorry to confirm that Hillingdon Law Centre has now permanently closed.
Hillingdon Law Centre served the communities of west London for more than 40 years. In that time it helped thousands of people with nowhere else to turn - resolving housing crises, supporting people through immigration processes, securing employment rights and ensuring access to welfare support. That record of service and the commitment of everyone who contributed to it deserves to be acknowledged as much as the circumstances of its closure.
The closure is a consequence of the sustained underfunding of civil legal aid and an increasingly hostile funding environment for charities in the advice sector. The Law Centres Network supported Hillingdon Law Centre throughout this period and continues to press for sustainable, long-term investment so that communities do not lose access to free legal help.
We are grateful to everyone who worked at, volunteered for, and supported the Hillingdon Law Centre over the years.
People living in the Hillingdon area who need free legal advice can find other local sources of help through the Hillingdon Advice Partnership.
All client cases have now been closed or transferred to other practices.
