Congratulations to Aurime Ribaxiauskaite who won the Social Justice Prize at this year’s University of Ulster School of Law Prize Giving Day.
The award, sponsored by Law Centre (NI), is awarded to an LLB (Honours) final year student for an outstanding piece of work.
“Aurime was an excellent student who won the final year Law Centre (NI) prize for Social Justice. Her first language is Lithuanian and she graduated in July this year. She is an excellent example of someone who has immigrated to the North of Ireland and worked hard at University in a testing degree programme, to enhance her career prospects.” said Dr Esther McGuinness, Lecturer in Law and Associate Director at the Ulster Law Clinic.
“We are delighted to sponsor this important prize. We see it as a crucial task to nurture the talent and enthusiasm of today’s law students, many of whom will carry on our work for social justice as the lawyers of the future.” Glenn Jordan, Director, Law Centre (NI).
True to Glenn's words, from January 2016 the Law Centre will also host an aspiring social welfare law leader over a two-year training contract. This is enabled through the Legal Education Foundation's prestigious Justice First Fellowships programme.
