Sarah Scott, a solicitor at Camden Community Law Centre, has been highly commended by the Law Centres Network for her work in Immigration, Public Law and Human Rights.
Sarah, nominated by her colleague Alison Denham, was presented with the award by LCN's outgoing chair Gillie Sharp at our annual conference in Birmingham on November 29th.
“Since joining our team in April, Sarah has initiated new ways of working to help the increasing number of people coming to the Law Centre since the legal aid cuts,” said Alison. ”Sarah has introduced group training sessions for Camden residents who want to know their rights regarding immigration law. She has also set up a partnership with SOAS, University of London, so law students can volunteer at the Law Centre to complement their university studies and to take some of the pressure off the paid staff”.
The same day, Sarah was also elected by the membership to represent Camden Community Law Centre as trustee on LCN's Executive Committee. Well done, Sarah!
