Running a financially viable housing law caseload – a discussion seminar”
This seminar will consider strategies in relation to undertaking interesting and varied legal aid funded housing casework whilst at the same time ensuring that the service is financially viable. It will include specific case examples and a discussion around case mix and billing. It is aimed specially at anyone working in housing in a Law Centre but will be useful for anyone running a Legal Aid Housing contract.

Stuart Hearne is a solicitor and Co-Director of Islington Law Centre. He previously worked for Shelter overseeing Shelter’s legal aid case work across all their offices in the South of England. Prior to this he has managed Cambridge House Law Centre and has worked as a partner in private practice. For the past 4 years Stuart has also been providing training around running certificated cases and in regard to maximising income from legal aid.
If a large waiting list develops we may run a second training session or webinar for those who cannot attend so please register your interest even if the bookings are full.
Payments will be refunded if the LCN is notified of the cancellation 7 clear days in advance of the training event. If cancellation is made within 7 days of the training event, the payment will not be refunded. Non - attenders will not be refunded.
On occasion, LCN may need to cancel a course due to extenuating circumstances. The decision to cancel a training course is at the discretion of the Director. All delegates will be notified by e-mail. LCN will refund the course fees or offer a place at an alternative training event. LCN will not be liable for any costs incurred by an individual or organisation eg travel expenses, for a cancelled course.
