The Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards (LALY) are presented annually by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group (LAPG) in recognition of excellence in publicly funded legal services.
The LALY shortlist for 2015 has just been published and includes three Law Centre nominations:
- Roopa Tanna (Islington Law Centre) - public law award
- Lisa Haythorne (Derbyshire Law Centre) - social and welfare law award
- Central England Law Centre (Coventry and Birmingham together) - legal practice award
Law Centres have traditionally excelled at the LALYs. Last year, for example, there were three Law Centre nominations and one award winner: Douglas Johnson of Sheffield Citizens Advice and Law Centre won the Social and Welfare LALY 2014.
This year's winners will be announced at an awards ceremony in London on 1st July 2015.
Congratulations to all nominees and good luck!
