Three Law Centre lawyers have been shortlisted for the Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year (LALY) awards 2013.
The LALYs, now in their eleventh year, are awarded by the Legal Aid Practitioners Group in recognition of the professional excellence of lawyers working in legal aid and their contribution to social justice and the rule of law.
Traditionally, Law Centres have had great success at the LALYs. This year, three Law Centre people have been shortlisted for awards:
- Hilton von Herbert (Hackney Community Law Centre) - for immigration solicitor
- Sue James (Hammersmith & Fulham Community Law Centre) - for social welfare lawyer
- Paul im Thurn (Kenworthy's Chambers, formerly of Cumbria Law Centre) - for social welfare lawyer
Congratulations to all three and we wish them success at the LALYs, which will be awarded on 2nd July.
