Living on the edge: Law Centres in focus

The picture of Law Centres following last month's legal aid cuts is a mixed one, as a new feature shows. 

On the whole, Law Centres are trying to maintain services to local residents as best as they can, but their financial horizons continue to be uncertain.

Circumstances also vary significantly from Law Centre to Law Centre, with differing levels of local authority help, collaboration with other local organisations and other initiatives in place. 

Charging for some services alongside the core free offering is also an issue that exercises some Law Centres.
