Kirklees Law Centre warns of the effect of rising tribunal fees

Sunday, August 4th 2013

Kirklees Law Centre, of Dewsbury in West Yorkshire, has warned local residents of rising fees for Employment tribunals. People challenging their employers will have to pay £160 or £250 to lodge a claim, and another £230 or £950 if the case is heard.

The Law Centre is concerned that the high fees would put people off standing up for their rights against their employers, especially now that legal aid for preparing employment cases has been cut. They suggest that people should seek advice to see if they might be eligible for fee reductions.
