Harness our commitment, don't attack it, says LCN director

Julie Bishop, director of the Law Centres Network, has called on government to "harness [Law Centres'] energy and commitment and build on it, not attack it." 

Speaking to the Law Society Gazette, Julie also admitted that "proper long-term planning is extremely difficult, both for LCN and our member Law Centres," due to "the ever-changing legal policy environment in the UK."

The personal feature also includes comments on pro bono and IOLTA schemes, recent Law Centres successes and closures, and the legal professions and their spirit.
